Written in August 1994. Darlene had encouraged
me that God was in control and she would be all right
regardless of what happened.

Her world fell apart;
Her best friend snatched away.
Sorrow filled her heart;
She questioned His love, and couldn’t pray.

His plan for her did not falter;
Another friend He brought her way;
Who waited for her at the alter;
His love for her he vowed that day

Together they followed as He led,
In sunny days and also in gray;
He gave them food and health and bed
Promised to be with them to the clay.
